Does anyone know how fairfight works?

I'm having a difficult time trying to get a full understanding of how fairfight works.

I found out that this is the company behind fairfight: https://www.gameblocks.co ... m/

"FairFight® is a non-invasive, customizable, Server Side Anti-Cheat engine using agnostic technology that operates in real time. It does not reside on the player's computer or the game server, and does not examine the players' devices or perpetually look for the latest hacks."

As best as I understand it fairfight works by analyzing your gameplay. if you play sketchy eventually it will catch you out. it detects for two things - stat padding, or aimbotting/wallhacking. For example fairfight knows where you're aiming relative to other players in the server so it detects when you're tracking people through walls with esp. The only downside to fairfight is that it usually takes a long time to catch up with you...

Anyway I don't think things like fraps or teamspeak or razer synapse cause false positives for fairfight - 1) because i've used all those things and never had a problem with it, and 2) because the info from the fairfight website says it doesn't do that.

@skipper, I read an article last night that says that FF will sometimes reset your stats if you are on what they consider to be a "glitched spot" in the map. I'm still trying to find more info on FF, they never give any info on their bans.

Yes that's partially correct. Fair fight probably would reset your stats if you habitually exploited an area of the map that you shouldn't be in. However one would probably also know not to go to these locations because I think fair fight just kicks for this behavior initially.

Fair fight doesn't detect cheating program of any nature that is what punkbuster is for. It is purely checking stats and compares it to others on the servers. They do have false positives. Think about it like this if fairfight was great for catching cheats why not permanent ban them instead of a time system and then multiple chances to keep coming back while not supplying any evidence of cheats. The reason is because of the false positive rate they have. Punkbusters and other anti cheat systems do permanent ban because they provide evidence of the cheat. Fair fight is mainly for catching blatant hacking meaning high headshot kills, accuracy, shot placement , areas of the body shot, player location on the map relative to players killed though stats. Fair fight is vague in how it works on purpose because I too didn't understand how it works at first. Once you do you start to notice anomalies like how can fair fight say that they detect esp, wall hacks, aimbots, and etc. If it doesn't actually scan your system like punk buster and other anti cheat systems work. It pretty much assumes based on stats. So the longer you play being a decent player you will have flagged stats by fair fight that it will watch and compare to other players. So as soon as your have stats become substantially higher than above average players it pops you. As for me they said I was "padding stats" I am going to assume due to my Ucav stats. Seeing as it happen when I killed someone with the ucav that is my speculation. We all know I don't stat pad. I have no findings on any anti cheat site that support any kind of cheating or stat padding and surprisingly not even on Fair Fight ban list on their site.... So that is all I have to say about the matter I was upset at first having over 1580 hours into the game and if I was cheating I would like to think that it would catch a person a whole hell of a lot sooner than 1580 hours of game play and stats. Now after researching FF to figure out what happened because they provided no evidence of their claim. I shall be back in about a day anyways.

I've seen more legitimate FF bans than not to be completely honest, however false positive FF bans are not unheard of either (PB + VAC have had false positives as well).

So long story short is that FF bans based on correlation, statistics (That go well beyond typical weapon stats), and thats about it. Based on a huge survey size and individual statistics its possible to determine what the absolute minimal ADS to shooting delay is as wells as a bunch of other statistics behind the scenes that I could only speak of if the dumb asses at gameblocks actually opened their logs or some relevant information.

Beyond that FF also bans for stats padding, but in Syco's case even if they wanted to claim stat padding he hasn't played on any other server besides MIgaming and his stats appear fairly legitimate beyond a reasonable doubt.

Regardless though FF is only good at catching blatant hacks and even though they claim its "False Positive Free" they go on to also claim false positive bans as "highly unlikely". I'll be the first to blame a disturbance in the force over cheating when it comes to machine learning setting the standard of detecting cheats without evidence.

Cliffs:
-There are not false positives.

Really I think all the false positive stuff was just cooked up by cheaters so they'd have an excuse when they got caught.

That's not what I was trying to say.

I was trying to say that fairfight bans aren't based 100% off of computer software. Fairfight software picks up sketchy players (aimbotters / wallhackers) and then as I understand it humans spectate the sketchy player and make a judgement call. Humans are definitely prone to making mistakes - I know I am anyway - But what I'm trying to say is it's not just "Oh some shitty software banned me because of false positive stats."

That's bullshit. Your gameplay / stats lead to fairfight flagging you - and then people that are trained/experienced on what to look for when spectating scumbags are able to make the final call... If you watched the interview - they said they did this so there WOULD NOT BE false positive arguments. Because of course cheaters are going to try their best to get uncaught. "Oh it wasn't me - my brother was playing on my account, etc, etc."

Maybe this time you didn't delete the email from EA/Fairfight... I know I'm not the only one who'd like to see it.

NOS? You mean NFS? Yes at the start it did, but all has been fixed now. I purposely waited until they fixed that BS before I bought it. It's a really, really fun arcade racer and the graphics are pretty dope.

server community which shall not be named has been on 60Hz with their competing "#1" server for months without issues, just saying.. may want to talk to NFO if your equipment can't hang.

Most of the servers you play on 60hZ are probably infantry maps only like Locker, Metro, etc. When you start playing maps like Firestorm, Oman, the water maps, that is when it gets crappy for everyone else

i notice a improved difference in hit registration and smoothness of gameplay from 30 to 60. as other servers seem to run fine on it, wonder if its an issue with the mig box/provider

60hz is terrible, it doesn't work on #1. We've tried it several times.
