BF1 level 30 now....what do i think (pros & cons)

BlackBartTX here,

I now have about 30 hours (2x 10 hour trials and 10 early) into this game and.... 

PROS:
1. Beautiful-easy comment this game takes the best from battlefronts textures and BF styled maps to make some terrific maps (and some bad ones).
2. Most maps are well thought out with ALOT of avenues to get places so it makes MOST maps very hard to lock people into one objective or the spawn.
3. Class differences- There actually is a difference in the classes - which us back to BF2 with set roles.  This game emphasizes each role which some are taking as good other dont like.
4. There are major differences and strong points of most every gun.  If you are close range with a sniper rifle you will not be as effective as an assaulter at close range.  That's great, so it forces you to play differently based on the map. I dont mind a maps configuration altering the way that i play.
5. Squads are extremely powerful in this game as any previous, but xp and points wise you should always be with others in ts.  I played cq last night and our squad was top of most of the games
6. This game promotes insane moments, I'm not sure if it has to do with objective placement or what, but i've had a bunch of moments in this game where I was actually having fun ... with bodies fly everywhere and shots flying overhead, crazy...I'll post some soon.
7. Hit detection is pretty damn good, I've only had a couple of instances where someone appeared around a corner (unlike bf4)
8. Martini has the best sound in the game....BOOOM!
9. Headshot noise ...I know I'm a child for that one but between that and the helmet flying off ridiculously.....especially at close range it's great.
10. Gadgets dont ruin the game/fun. Omg m320 / rpg spam ... doesn't really exist... Except for mortar now that I think of it (put on the cons too).
11. Behemoths equalize the game and make you work really hard til the last moment to win at conquest which is great.  No lazing about.  
12.  Operations mode is absolutely crazy and fun....seriously, unless you do the one on suez....it's really fucking bad.
13.  The game really rewards you for teamwork, so help your squad and watch your score/xp shoot through the roof.

CONS:
1. Too many vehicles!!! It's not that bad when your team actually focuses on them, but when they are all snipers the constant flow of vehicles is ridiculous. Some are great but having 4 vehicles on an objective is crazy.
2. Mouse sensitivities are weird.
3. Why no HC at LAUNCH....grrr
4. Fucking mortars...
5. Squads and teammates can be odd to join with. Have to exit game to accept invites to game/party.  In game origin is terrible. This is a really bad problem, although once you finally get in the party, for the most part the game keeps you on the same team in the same squad which is a great improvement. 
6. No custom servers on launch.... This is another easy one that should have been ready for the launch.
7.  Operations mode game finding is terrible. Should have osme kind of browser instead of the shit that it is.
8. Sinai Desert and Suez maps are fucking terrible. Flat sand.....fucking boring shit gameplay on those maps.
9. no joystick compatibility? I've heard this and think it's a little crazy even though I don't use joystick anymore.

This isn't a 100% complete list as I am at work but it's pretty good.  Let me know what you think... and if I missed a couple things.  It's not perfect but, when with a squad, this game is fucking fun...and that's all that really counts.

I think it's great that I get the same feeling playing this game as intended with a squad and have had equal fun to bf3 trolling which means I dont have to troll to have fun....That's a great mark for a game.

Side note: This game like any other bf, can be slightly annoying if you have no friends to group with.

First off thank you for your thoughts on it.

Secondly, I am disappointed that vehicles were a large issue. They have always been my least favorite part of the Battlefield series and their presence has usually been fairly balanced in past releases. I have read the 1st impressions by PCGAMER and they said that there are no real good ways to deal with vehicles either, which worries me.
After some digging on reddit I have read that as your 'kits' level up you can unlock some more anti-vehicle options - did you see that this is true?

Do the Behemoths feel like the titans of 2142? Why or why not?

Since HC is lacking at present, does normal play similarly to how it does in BF4? Are there the 3d spotting tags (doritos) above heads?

Sorry for the late reply, work went crazy after I posted that and I didn't sit for about 10 hours straight.

These are great questions-

1. I think PCGamers report was based off of the BETA, which this was true but there were things to be done to negate this problem. In the beta you had to be a certain level WITHIN the kit in order to unlock the specific gadgets (AT Rocket was about level 2 I think?).  This took time to unlock and made tanks on a desert map with no cover extremely potent.  They have since gotten rid of the level requirement for gadgets entirely but added a small in game currency cost (which you get as you get levels 160-270 per level and each gadget is 60).  They also added and anti vehicle gadget to the support class making it more useful.  Light anti tank grenades do more damage which any class can and should equip to their grenade slot (or gas but it does nothing to tanks). Light tanks were also too powerful in the beta so they reduced how many shots they have before you need to reload and nerfed their armor.  

As long as your team is mindful that there is a tank and they need to attack it, the tanks are not as big an issue as the beta.  Also most of the maps in the game are not as open which makes it easier to maneuver around then to attack. Plus in HC when it releases they cant use 3p camera which reduces their visibility a ton (which i LOVE).

2.  Behemoths ARE NOTHING like bf2142.  They are not a capturable base that you can land on and attack (you can but...it's not intended).  These are more like a C130.  They are VERY powerful and ONLY given to a team that has fallen being very much 150-200 tix.  They are not scripted or launch at the same time in game, it depends on how bad a team is doing.  It ONLY ever goes to a team that it already losing.  From my experience I have only seen 1 team win once the behemoth comes out.  It does make the game more intense and usually makes the game come down to wire which makes things more fun.  YOU MUST USE TEAMWORK TO KILL THEM.  things like the train and really easy to MINE the tracks, dynamite, at rocket, tank shell,etc. just keep in mind it has alot of firepower.  In operations if the defenders dont focus on it, it can change the battle drastically.

3. TTK is decent in this game, and the hit detection is pretty damn good.  Doritos shrink as you get further away and after 150m or so you cant mark things easily.  This game would feel ok if HC just removed hud/map and got rid of doritos on infantry.  Static marking on vehicles would be exceptable to me but would be ok without.  With fog and dust HC is going to be interesting, wont see as many snipers cause they cant just mark their target and blast.  We will see, I'm excited for HC.

Making a group on an EA server kinda sucks, there alot of leaving the game and accepting invites and shit.  That's the only thing other than a couple maps (suez/sanai desert) that have made me frustrated.

Something to add as a con although I'm sure it's on Nvidias side....many crashes in bunches caused by gpu drivers, not sure whats causing it yet. So that gets annoying...really fast

Note : I have and i5-2500k with 770gtx 2g so that may be part of the issue i'm sure it's one setting that combo doesn't like (in the division it was particle movement).

I have GTX 1080. No crashes.

None on driver 373.06 (used for BF1 Beta)
None on driver 375.57 (for BF1 release)

I would lean more towards the 2GB VRAM.

That doesn't explain why I didn't crash once during the beta.  This newest driver still crashes, fyi.

I have same issue and I have 6Gb of VRAM. It's obviously the games fault.

just thought about that answer too and people with 4gb 770s and 690s are having the same issue. it's a server setting that is clashing, there was a similar issue when The Division launched where the card couldn't handle wind blowing snow around and it would crash your game. Once they find out what the setting is that needs to be changed this will be fixed. I've tried alot, turning off AA and post processing, texture levels and a bunch of others with no avail. I've gone into the config file and tried to see if it was turning on dx12 (which my card cant really run) and it wasn't. Everything else I've seen on the net says that this is a huge problem and EA/Nvidia haven't gotten their thumb on what's causing it. Nvidia has pushed 2 new drivers trying to solve this issue. sometimes I go an hour or two without crashing then all of a sudden I get 2-3 crashes 1-2 games apart.

This problem is extremely aggrivating, especially when I'm MVP 90% of the time and I'm missing out on battlepacks because of it....grrr.

*Before the patch that went through this week, getting MVP in score over both teams guarenteed you a battlepack. This has changed as of Tuesday this week.
