I've had the Acer Predator X34 Predator now for over a year. I bought one when they first became available, and haven't had a single issue since day 1. Mine has no dead pixels, no scan lines, and very minimal back light bleed (you really only see it in the corners during startup etc.). When you overclock to 100mhz along with GSync, it looks incredibly smooth.

In games like BF4 and GTA5, I turn up res scaling and the picture is incredible. You need at least sli GTX 1080s to do that however, and your computer better be fast as hell overall.

I cannot recommend the monitor enough, it's absolutely incredible. So good in fact, I haven't even researched what monitors might be coming down the pipeline. I don't care!

Thanks TwinGunsLLP,

My system has plenty of resources (CPU, RAM and Disk), so do you think my single ASUS ROG Matrix GTX 980 Ti has enough juice for BF4 at the highest settings and resolution? or should I wait until the Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti is released? I'm not a big fan of SLI

just wait for 1080 ti. I also have a 980 ti but I don't think it has enough juice for it.

not sure about your last question, just want to point out that the LG 38UC99-W (38-Inch 21:9 Curved UltraWide QHD+ IPS Monitor), as incredible as it sounds/looks, is AMD FreeSync tech.
so no g-sync with your gtx980. lastly, it only runs at 75 Hz refresh rate after it's been overclocked.
if you can afford to wait a little then amd vega/ryzen will come out and prices should drop a bit.

I have a ton of experience as I've tried one, two, and three 980tis with my current setup (they were the cards I had before the 1080s).  I won't even talk about tri-sli because I almost set the room on fire and the cards shut down from heat after about 10 minutes.

One 980ti will be enough to run at 3440x1440 with ultra settings, but not with AD or AP, you'll have to turn both of those off.  Res scaling is pretty much out of the question except for maybe 110% but over that you'll hit a wall.  Your fps probably won't be very high either, maybe high 50s low 60s, and you'll definitely notice the stuttering on maps like firestorm.

I'd get a 1080 as soon as the 1080ti comes out and the price drops.

TwinGunsLLP,

From what I understand the ASUS ROG Matrix GTX 980 Ti has 30% more power then a reference GTX 980 Ti. What brand GTX 1080's do you have?

1080s are Zotac AMPs! Not reference cards.

My 980tis were Gigabyte Windforce. Here is my setup with tril 980tis. Didn't last long, heat was unbearable.

Holy Crap... Dell announced a UltraSharp 32 Ultra HD 8K monitor (UP3218K) How many GTX 1080Ti's will I need to run this monster at ultra settings and full resolution?

Not enough, the cards don't exist yet for 8k.

Consider me old school, but, Given the option to game on a larger monitor, I wouldn't take it.
19.5" is best for FPS gaming. But, that's just my opinion. (sorry for bump, thread isn't THAT old XD)

As for the question about the 8k Monitor,
There isn't a game on the planet even capable of 8k gaming, it'd also be kinda stupid to make one consider, gphx rendering just isn't even there yet... another 10 more years and you might see 4k gaming as plausible, (Unreal 4 Engine is KINDA there) but, right now, for devs to focus on more pixels in texture detail, rather than object detail... just, no. not there yet, and won't be for a VERY long time.
8K, as mentioned in the article you posted, is really only for graphics designers. So, unless you want the monitor for a mind blowing background wall paper... You'r game is going to be loading at maybe slightly over 1080p... 4k gaming is .... even difficult for 2 1080's right now from my understanding.

Forgive my ignorance, I was 100 percent wrong.
Games are coded so that they can run whatever, and 2 titan x p's will accomplish 8k gaming. (Not very well)

What 2 Titan XP's can do, 4 can do better?

Thirty IR
4 way SLI Titan XP

This seems to give out the best results, unfortunately, you're looking at dishing out about 6 Thousand dollars USD in GPU alone, in order to pump 8k at reasonable levels... This guy runs at 5K, and plays BF4 at 173 FPS

No way the scaling is good on that, interesting though.

PrOpR1oCePtIoN,

Sorry for the late reply, I haven’t purchased a new monitor yet as I’m waiting to see the specs for the new GTX 1080 Ti and whatever AMD comes out with first. I have been keeping up with the new G-sync monitors for 2017:

AOC AGON AG352UCG with 100Hz VA Panel and G-sync
35" AMVA panel with 3440 x 1440 resolution

HP Omen X35 with 100Hz VA Panel and G-sync
35" AMVA panel with 3440 x 1440 resolutio

I really like the LG 38UC99-W 38-Inch 21:9 Curved UltraWide QHD+ IPS Monitor, but it's FreeSync.

Jackfrags on YT has some interesting information on gameplay mechanics and such. All the shit you want to hear about seems to be in that video and not the official Dice one. Go figure.

I mean looking at Reddit, you have to really, REALLY look to see a single positive comment. It's basically 99.9% bad. Haha

I bet they won't even put the nazi symbol in the game.

I'll still get it though once it's released and some reviews come out. With any luck, the stupid feminist crap will only be in the single player which I never bother with anyway.
