Need a little boost! Wisdom on cutting tabaco?

Need some tips if there are others here that tobacco smokers. I've cut myself down to only smoking hookah now, I used to do cigars and hookah. But it seems like if I have a stressful day, I automatically want to go and smoke hookah. I'm getting to the point where I've cut down to pretty much once maybe twice a week I'll smoke hookah. But I seriously want to stop, but still have that edge on doing it. Any words here on how I can stop this habit completely? I've never smoked cigs, but I started hookah when I first enlisted in the Air Force and continued since I've gotten out. I want to stop as I'm so close on getting my lean and six pack abs back and bu;king up. But still have that urge once or twice a week to do some hookah.

Yeah I'm looking at stopping anything smoking related. I know vaping is supposedly a good way to stop, but I don't want to invest money into another smoking/vape product to stop smoking. I honestly find the actual vape thing quite annoying cause it seems everyone and their four-teen year old kid are doing it.

i don't personally vape and what you say is true.
if you are down to couple of times a week then it should be easy to go cold turkey?

I'm thinking since I am down to a couple times a week it shouldn't be too hard. Just sometimes when the stress level gets up I get the urge to go smoke some hookah and relax. Also sad part, everytime I get done smoking I get headaches, but the urge still kicks over when the stress goes up.

The headaches could be directly related to the brand of hookah you're using, have you tried switching to another one?

Also if you're roughly doing it 8 times a month, try decreasing your use month by month instead of quitting cold turkey. That's how I got my girlfriend to stop drinking energy drinks every single day 1-2 times a day.

i was going to say exercise really helps but you're already smashing it for summer, the only thing, six pack and all, and this is from my own experience, you may not be getting adequate rest and food/calorie intake?

If you are down to a couple of times a week just quit cold turkey. Vaping, nic gum etc are just trading one form of nicotine for the other. You are still addicted. Trust the voice of experience. I have been chewing nicotine gum for over a year. Still addicted. Nicotine does not relieve stress! The body's physiological response to nicotine is very similar to being stressed out. The "relaxation" you feel when you use nicotine is that of satisfying the addictive craving. Not relaxation. **The headaches while possibly caused by dehydration and other things mentioned may also be a precursor to a STROKE. Especially if it is happening in conjunction with a hookah session. Your brain is screaming for oxygen! Again, trust the voice of experience. Do push-ups, run a lap, or a 100 yard sprint, anything but smoke. You are killing yourself and your brain is giving you a warning! Stop!!!

I am stage 4 copd. I am also on oxygen 24/7. Smoking shortens your life as you well know. If you have children or grandchildren, or the possibility of seeing your great grandchildren, you can pretty much kiss it goodbye to ever seeing them grow up. You can loose your lungs your throat, or any part of your body to cancer.

Dying will not be pretty. Living with any of these problems will be constantly painful. I am in pain all day everyday. I still smoke sometimes. Nicotine is about as addictive as heroin.

If you can manage to get to a month without nicotine, you should be able to quit. I have done that several times, but to me it no longer matters, since i am already so sick.
