People have been asking a lot of questions lately how I watch my shows and movies.  I don't pay for Netflix/Hulu/or the premium GO (HBO/Cinamax, Etx) anymore.  I canceled my direct TV over a year ago.. Now I use Kodi.TV which is completely legal and sold in stores.  DO NOT be conned into buying a box.  Below is a link to the website as well youtube link to how to install. It has EVERY show and movie ever created.  Constant updates.   even movies in the theatre... That may sound odd to some people but I have sent this to my lawyer to make sure I am not breaking any laws.   ENJOY !!!!

Would the laws vary by country or some other geopolitical difference?

I cannot tell you the streaming laws of other countries. But if you if you concerns of who is watching I would download peerblock that is run by iblocklist. Peerblock.com

this should be perfectly safe for watching tv programs, as for the movies, unless you use some sort of obfuscation or you live in a pirate friendly country with no extradition laws to united states, most probably not.
but seriously though, it's great, it runs on anything, android/smart tv's/media boxes, linux, ios/mac os/raspberry pi, bsd, windows..
just use the latest tutorial as the one blynd linked is no longer working - https://www.youtube.com/w ... atch?v=o_3RIjdy6nI

I cut the cord in 2005 and was using XBMC (kodi) when it was competing with windows XP media center. It's come a long way since then and the number of add-ons is staggering. My whole house is set up for it, with an old gaming rig serving as a media center, sharing it's library (through mysql) with an ipad, laptop, 2 rpi 2's and old android phone (all running kodi).

If you really want to get the full internet media experience, get a USENET host, VPN, an indexer that supports API calls, sickrage, couchpotato, etc... and you'll have a fully automated, never-miss-anything, everything-that's-ever-been-made-is-on-demand system that blows what cable companies offer away; for maybe $14 a month max (plus your internet, obv).

Depends. The repo is where the add-on files are maintained and where updates come from. SuperRepo is a good one to start with and has tons of stuff, but if you want to run something like SALTS (Stream All The Sources) you need to add their specific repo. You can add as many as you want.
